Jasion Electric Bike Review
After much research we ended up buying two Jasion Hunter Pro foldable e-bikes (blue/brown). We received them in 2-3 business days. The bikes assembled in about an hour and assembly was pretty easy. These bikes are very smooth with the front/rear suspension. The hydraulic brakes are superb with a maximum stopping range without locking up from 30 MPH. At 5'9" and 5'6" the ride seating and posture are perfect. The saddle is very comfortable. The handlebars and grips are adjustable and give you a BMX style upright ride which we prefer. The 7 speed gears are really good and provide effective pedaling up to 17-20 MPH. At 20 you are really spinning those cranks. The headlight and tail light are very effective and provide sufficient illumination. The horn is very loud and I'd say maybe a bit to loud if on a trailing trying to provide an approach warning as it would startle most. Maybe I'll buy a bell so I can be a good citizen :). The LCD display is very bright and we have used it in bright sun as well as in dusk lighting and it was superb. I like that I can reset the trip and monitor my voltage use while I ride so I can gage my time to return home. The blinkers are a nice touch but they are a bit clumsy to access with your finger as you may need to remove your hand from the grip to get to the RIGHT button. LEFT is more easily accessed. If I ride the bike using pedal assist and Power Level 5 I get about 20 miles which is not bad. I typically ride on level 4 using more pedal assist so I can get more enjoyment of my surroundings and in these cases I get about 28-30 miles per ride. I don't know of anybody that would ride pedal assist 1 to get the 80 mile range and I don't think I'll ever try that as 80 miles @ 12 MPH would make for a very long day in the saddle. The elevation throughout my rides during these mileage tests was roughly 100 feet and the hills were not dramatic. I would be remiss if I did not note that when riding around corners, the pedals may rub the ground if you pedal while making a sharper turn. This happened to me a couple times and I was surprised by it but the pedal didn't dig in or cause an unsafe condition. This is something you will need be conscious of when you ride. Another feature I like are the wheel spokes. There are plenty of spokes which provide greater wheel support with a heavier bike resulting in less wheel damage and broken spokes. The tires are also pretty good for the default tires. Usually manufacturers provide very cheep tires that wear down in 50 miles or so. Most of my rides are flat with very slight inclines. One of the best features of this bike is its ability to fold up in the middle and at the handlebars. We installed baskets and were able to fold two bikes and place them safely in the back of our 2019 Honda CRV. We had to fold the seats down and once you get the angles down right, it is very easy to load and unload them. I recommend saving some of your denser packaging foam so you can use it at the contact points once folding to reduce bounce wear on the paint when you drive down the road as there are some points of contact when folded.
How could Jasion have provided a better bike for the money? I'm not sure if they could have done much as these are very good bikes for the money. I do have some small suggestions for what they are worth.
1) Provide optional battery expander pack. Perhaps the additional battery could be mounted on the rear and could be switched over to as a sort of reserve tank.
2) Provide accessory mounting screws frame locations for water bottles, folding locks, etc.
3) Provide a cypher lock quick attach/detach feature for the rear cargo basket.
4) Front Motor Hub upgrade (along with the battery expansion)
Thank you Jasion for a very nicely constructed bike built with quality components. I get a lot of comments from other people when they see the bike and I share my exceptional experience with them all. We look forward to touring all the areas of San Diego, CA with our bikes and for those locations further out, we are glad we can easily pack up the bikes and then explore further away from our home.
Respectfully,
Tom
Purchased two bikes together and so far, very happy with them. The first one took a little work to get it together but once I got it figured out, the second one was a breeze. Took it for a ride off road on some mountain bike paths, smooth ride with the wide tires, a very solid bike. Seat is nice and wide, making it comfortable. Bike easily folds down and is compact for storage which is what I wanted so that it would fit well under the canopy of my truck on road trips.

We haven’t had a whole lot of time on the bikes yet but so far so good
This is my second x hunter my first I put it to the test and it handle everything I throw at it. Well worth the 1000. I'm not a fan of the new kind of handle bars. I like to be able to adjust.
